ULC calls off strike aftermath of meeting with Labour Minister

The United Labour Congress (ULC) has called off strike embarked upon since Monday by its affiliates.

This followed a meeting between the Minister of Labour & Productivity, Senator Nwabueze Ngige, the leadership of ULC and its affiliates led by its President, Comrade Joe Ajaero.

This was contained in the communique  issued at the end the meeting on 20/09/17 and jointly endorsed by the president and secretary general of ULC.

The meeting, according to the communique agreed to reschedule another round of discussion to September, 26, 2017 which would include not only the Minister of Labour, but also that of Petroleum, the Minister of Works and Energy and the Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria where all the issues at stake would be discussed.

It was in the light of this agreement that the leadership of ULC called off the strike.
