CAR DEALER DENIES SELLING CAR 'GIFT' AS BRIBE FOR EFCC CHAIRMAN

*Says Car Bought for Personal Use of Governor Akpabio

As the sale of a bullet proof car to governor Godswill Akpabio continues to generate controversies on the alleged bribery attempt for the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Chairman, Mrs Farida Waziri,the car dealer says he never sold the car as gift to the EFCC boss.

Reacting to the allegation that the car was sold to Governor Akpabio to bribe Mrs Farida Waziri, the car dealer, Charlse Ahize of Atlantic Automobile denied selling the car worth N42m to the governor  as a bribe.
 Ahize declared that Akpabio became interested in purchasing the Mercedes 450 GL bullet proof car after having a ride with him in his own personal car because of the ambiance of the car. “I sold the car to him for at N42m and he never told me he was giving the car to anybody.

 “Actually why Governor Akpabio bought the car was that he rode with me in my bullet proof 450 GL car and he liked the ambiance and he bought one from me”

According to Ahize, “The car was paid for by Governor Akpabio instalmentally. He never mentioned to me that he wanted to give the car to anybody, it was a car he put in his pool to use”.

He noted that before the car was delivered to Governor Akpabio, somebody alleged on the Internet that it has been sold for $500,000 dollars.
It was alleged by an on line news meduim that Governor Akpabio has bought a bullet proof car from Charles Ahize to bribe the EFCC chairman, Mrs Farida Waziri.
